What is the material of IC card making?

Yes, we can also become plastic cards, but there are many plastics. First, white PVC. Why should we emphasize white PVC? Because in addition to white, there are other colors used in IC card making, such as black, red, green, etc., but these colors are rarely used, and only white PVC is our main material, because its use is more in line with our printing. White PVC material, whether its coloring, mobility, even weather resistance and stability, meets the requirements of card making, and white PVC is relatively cheap in production cost.

Second, pet, which is what we call high temperature resistant material, is mainly used in some special environments. This material is relatively less used. After all, you have to make membership cards and so on, and PVC is enough. If the card needs long-term exposure or high-temperature operation, pet can be used. However, it should be noted here that when making cards, PET materials can not be completely combined. Generally, they are pet + PVC, that is, the surface is PET material, and the new IC material in the middle is PVC material. In this way, they can be completely combined.

Here's a little trick to tell you, that is, how to identify PVC and pet. Compared with PVC, pet looks yellow and feels thicker. Especially after synthesizing the card, you can clearly distinguish which is PVC card and which is pet card.

The third kind is transparent PVC, which is the same as white PVC, but it is transparent. It is often used in the production of transparent cards to make the cards look high-end and different. In addition, transparent PVC has good chemical stability, corrosion resistance, high hardness, high strength, high strength, anti UV line (aging resistance), fire resistance and flame retardancy (self extinguishing), and reliable insulation performance, The surface is smooth and smooth, without water absorption, deformation and easy processing, so it is also widely used. In the use of cards, we can rarely give full play to their characteristics to ensure the quality of cards.

The above three materials are commonly used in IC card making. In actual production, PVC is the main material, accounting for more than 90%. Of course, in addition to the above three, there are also some other materials used on cards, such as laser materials, wire drawing materials and so on.
